Overview
Davenergy Solutions is seeking an onsite full-time Construction Manager-Mechanical HVAC at the Dallas VA Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The project constructs approximately 166,000 gross square feet of space for a new 30-bed Long-Term Spinal Cord Injury (LTSCI) unit with associated clinical and administrative support spaces. The LTSCI will be connected with renovations to the existing building, with campus loop road modifications, utility upgrades, and site improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical construction activities for a hospital project, including underground installations, medical gas, domestic water, chilled water, and steam systems.
- Oversee low HVAC systems, testing and balancing, operations, sheet metal ducts, and control systems including direct digital controls.
- Supervise conveying systems such as elevators, dumbwaiters, pneumatic tube systems, and related equipment.
- Supervise mechanical design and installation for specialized medical and laboratory equipment (e.g., MRI, PET, CT, audiometric booths, hoods, safety cabinets, sterilization equipment).
- Provide cost estimates and take-offs for mechanical contract modifications.
- Ensure workmanship, materials, equipment, and installed work comply with contract requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with building, safety, and environmental codes; coordinate across environmental, civil, safety, architectural, and structural fields.
Qualifications
6 years of experience practicing mechanical engineering and 6 years of experience inspecting mechanical construction.Licensed professional with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in HVAC or Plumbing from an accredited institution; additional consideration for a Construction Manager-Senior Mechanical Engineer with active PE license.Knowledge of government contracting procedures, and ability to understand local, state, and federal jurisdiction requirements for the project.Strong communication, language, and software skills to monitor, update, and produce work products; proficiency with relevant software and good interpersonal skills.Education, Certifications, Affiliation
Licensed professional engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC or Plumbing) from an accredited institution; minimum of six (6) years of experience in design and construction.Salary
Salary : 80K - 95K per year
