NSTI is looking for an on-site Anchorage based, Human Resources Administrative Assistant! NSTI is an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) firm that designs and installs telecom solutions for our customers using various technologies across the state of Alaska.

We specialize in providing solutions to customers in the oil and gas industry on the North Slope of Alaska. We also provide in solutions to customers who operate in rural communities and on remote mountaintop sites.

We are in need of someone who has initiative, drive, personality, organized, can help organize and assist in the development of the HR department.

The Human Resources Admin. Assistant (HR Admin) will assist with administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.

Education and Experience Required :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or HR preferred.
  • Prior related office experience required.
  • At least two years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications or construction field highly desired
  • ADP or other HRIS experience a plus!

Essential Functions

  • Assists and coordinates the recruitment process, to include posting positions, scheduling interviews, and corresponding with candidates
  • Assists with new hire orientation
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource information, files and records
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.

  • Provides clerical support to the HR department
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
