Division Finance Officer, Department Of Medicine
The Division Finance Officer (Administrative Operations Professional III) is a position within the finance / business office of the Department of Medicine (DOM). The overall objective of this position is to provide day to day fiscal management, reporting, and compliance for multiple divisions within the department, working closely with departmental and divisional leadership. This position plays a pivotal role in monitoring divisional contracts, grants, endowments, gifts and awards, and prepares budgets and financial reports for internal and external partners. This position may be eligible for a flexible schedule work arrangement in conversation with the supervisor.

Provide management of and fiscal responsibility for UA and UA Foundation accounts of assigned divisions, including but not limited to budget development, expense management, financial analysis and reporting.
Ensure accuracy and financial compliance for all assigned accounts.
Collects, interprets and evaluates financial data from various resources.
Review and approve action list items in UAccess Financials, capital asset management, chart of accounts, financial processing, and workflow eDoc requests.
Review the Financial one pager and distribute it to Division Chiefs and PIs, and assist the Department Associate Administrator and the Finance and Administration Manager with Department and Center(s) College All Funds Annual Budget including gathering internal salary information, projecting operations, travel, capital equipment, etc.
Utilize specialized knowledge to coordinate and administer financial reporting that involves our clinical partner Banner University Medical Group, which requires complex financial reports related to distribution of effort and funding.
Perform work with extensive knowledge of university systems.
Communicate with PIs and Sponsored Projects regarding research activity.
Facilitate, lead, and / or attend department, division, PI, and team meetings.
Review and respond to day to day email correspondence and voice mail messages from Division administrative and research staff, PIs, accountants, other departments, and Department Leadership.
Act as the fiscal officer for all UA accounts within assigned Divisions.
Review and approve federal effort certification bi-annually.
Review department award information and coordinate with financial analysts to operationalize award docs ensuring departmental and institutional processes and procedures are being followed.
Monitor financial activity for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Interpret and apply appropriate guidelines, regulations, policies and procedures set forth by the University, sponsors, and outside governing agencies.
Evaluate and recommend cost saving strategies for purchasing supplies, services, and equipment.
Advise Financial Analyst teams and department division staff on financial, technical, and operation policies and reimbursement procedures.
Partner with analyst support team to ensure alignment with daily finance activities and provide training as needed.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience is required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
