Medical Assistant Position
Actalent is hiring a medical assistant for an afternoon shift! This role involves delivering high-quality, team-based patient care under the supervision of a clinician, focusing on both clinical and administrative tasks. The position supports chronic disease management and pediatric care, with specialty training as needed. Responsibilities include welcoming patients and maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring proper supplies and infection control are in place, recording vital signs and notifying clinicians of any abnormalities, interviewing patients to update records and gather relevant medical documents, assisting with exams, screenings, procedures, and emergency responses under clinician supervision, reconciling records, educating patients, and administering injections following safety protocols, handling calls, correspondence, refills, referrals, forms, and scheduling efficiently, performing phlebotomy and processing lab samples, and actively participating in patient-centered care and meeting organizational quality standards.
Essential skills include proficiency in medical assisting and patient care, experience with phlebotomy and medical terminology, familiarity with electronic health records, and strong customer service skills. Additional skills and qualifications include a medical assistant diploma / certification / registration or three years of experience as a medical assistant, active BLS certification, a current, valid driver's license, and one or more years of experience with medical assisting in a healthcare setting.
The position is 100% onsite in a healthcare clinic located in Pembroke Pines, FL. The shift schedule is Monday-Thursday from 1 : 30 PM to 7 : 00 PM, and every Saturday from 7 : 30 AM to 12 : 00 PM. The pay range for this position is $21,992.88 - $31,060.12 / yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
