Job Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Child Care Assistant Director who also provides hands-on classroom support when needed. This unique role blends leadership, coaching, and daily classroom engagement. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate mentor and an adaptable team player—someone who leads by example, supports teachers in delivering high-quality care, and ensures the center operates smoothly each day.
You will play an active role in staff management and family communication, while also stepping into classrooms as needed to maintain a nurturing and consistent environment for children.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Staff Development :
- Oversee, train, and mentor staff to maintain a positive, professional, and high-performing team.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions and staff development programs.
- Ensure all staff meet licensing requirements and uphold center policies and standards.
- Model positive guidance, teamwork, and effective communication in the classroom.
Classroom Support (Floater Duties) :
Provide support across classrooms as needed, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent care.Engage directly with children during activities, playtime, and learning experiences.Maintain order, cleanliness, and organization in all areas.Assist with toileting, hygiene routines, meals, and nap time supervision.Support outdoor play supervision and promote physical and social development.Help with special projects, family events, and classroom activities.Facility & Operations Management :
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.Maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized environment.Assist the Director in daily administrative tasks and operational decision-making.Parent & Community Engagement :
Foster strong, positive communication between families and the center.Provide timely updates to parents regarding their child’s progress and classroom activities.Represent the center professionally in the community and at outreach events.Qualifications :
Experience in early childhood education, child care management, or staff training required.Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.Knowledge of state child care licensing and safety regulations.Ability to multitask, lead by example, and provide consistent classroom support.Passion for nurturing children’s growth and fostering a positive team culture.Why Join Discovery Kids
