Description :

Basic Functions : Works independently to assure the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire / life safety, etc. Supervises and evaluates Maintenance staff. Maintains building, landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Primary contact for contractors and other vendors as it relates to facilities management.
• Responsible for security of parish grounds, contact Pastor, OD and local police department when needed as result of damage or vandalism to grounds.
• Oversees and performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, or electrical.
• Informs Pastor and OD of all required upgrades to grounds, equipment, etc. and consults Operations Director on purchasing of items in advance.
• Oversee that all equipment for grounds is operational.
• Lawn, landscaping maintenance, snow removal as needed.
• Responsible for set-up and take down of chairs and tables for parish functions.
• Oversees, assigns and monitors work of custodial staff and Community Service assignees.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, climb and lift ladders without assistance.
• Performs small and minor repairs to equipment and repairs buildings as needed.
• Oversees and coordinates equipment rental and needs for major parish events.
• Cleans and keeps church, rectory, RE offices, and classrooms looking presentable at all times.
• May be given various other assignments and projects consistent with the responsibility level and general duties of position.

Requirements :

Education Required : High School Diploma

Experience Required : Minimum of 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of formal education and related work experience, such as electrical, HVAC, carpentry.

Experience Preferred : 5 years of experience as Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor.

Skills Required : Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures of facilities and grounds management. Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, or electrical.

Skills Preferred : Trade certifications.

Other Required : Valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle. Availability to work overtime as needed. Lift push / pull 50lbs.
