Resident Inspector / Field Engineer

Were seeking a Resident Inspector / Field Engineer to support municipal and infrastructure projects across multiple disciplines from water and wastewater systems to transportation, utilities, and environmental restoration. In this role, youll be a key on-the-ground contributor ensuring projects are built to the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
What Youll Do
- Serve as an on-site engineering representative for public infrastructure projects.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and project documentation , including materials, labor, and compliance records.
- Participate in client and contractor meetings , providing technical insight and ensuring alignment with design intent and regulatory requirements.
- Perform engineering analyses, field evaluations, and environmental documentation , using the latest tools and software.
- Review contractor test results, payment applications, and permit compliance documentation.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to keep projects on track and within scope.
- Support business development efforts , identifying opportunities and assisting with proposal preparation.
What You Bring
Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering , Construction Management, or a related field ( Masters preferred ).4+ years of relevant field or engineering experience, ideally with underground pipelines, water / wastewater systems, or infrastructure construction.Working knowledge of construction inspection practices , technical reporting, and QA / QC procedures.Proficiency with digital tools used in field engineering and project tracking (tablets, Microsoft Office, CAD a plus).Excellent communication skills able to engage clients, write reports, and collaborate effectively across teams.A valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle.OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification plus.PE or CCM certification a plus; EITs encouraged to apply.What We Offer
