About the Role
An established general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a background in ground-up commercial construction . This individual will lead all aspects of the project delivery process—from preconstruction through closeout—ensuring that safety, quality, schedule, and budget goals are achieved.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and proactive leader who can effectively coordinate with superintendents, trade partners, clients, and design teams to deliver successful commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Project Management
Manage and oversee all phases of construction in partnership with the Superintendent.
Define team roles and responsibilities, delegate effectively, and promote a collaborative team environment.
Conduct and lead OAC, subcontractor, and internal team meetings.
Anticipate project challenges and proactively identify solutions.
Construction Oversight
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to guide project execution.
Develop and monitor project controls, logistics plans, and sequencing strategies.
Ensure all permits and approvals are in place before project start.
Work closely with field teams to maintain progress and quality standards.
Safety & Quality
Partner with field leadership to implement and enforce project-specific safety and QA / QC programs.
Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
Ensure compliance with testing, inspections, and corrective measures.
Scheduling & Planning
Create and maintain detailed construction and procurement schedules.
Coordinate material deliveries, subcontractor mobilizations, and milestone deadlines.
Identify opportunities to accelerate progress and improve efficiency.
Adjust and re-sequence activities as needed to maintain project completion goals.
Financial Management
Manage overall project financials including budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
Review and approve subcontractor invoices, change orders, and owner pay applications.
Maintain accurate cost tracking and ensure profitability within approved forecasts.
Support procurement strategy and subcontractor buyout to align with project budgets.
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate potential project risks throughout all phases.
Maintain proper documentation for all change orders, delays, and disputes.
Ensure insurance, bonds, and other compliance documents are properly maintained.
Client Relations & Development
Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, design partners, and project stakeholders.
Represent the company professionally in all meetings and communications.
Support opportunities for repeat business and long-term client relationships.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience : 5–10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction.
Skills :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling, and project management software.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage complex projects.
Knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and safety standards.
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project documentation.
