Assignment Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Schedule Type : Self-scheduling

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per contract)

Job Summary : The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Antepartum Unit provides comprehensive, compassionate care for high-risk pregnant patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions. The RN works collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes in a teaching hospital environment.

Typical Patient Population :

Antepartum

Postpartum w / telemetry or continuous pulse oximetry

Postpartum Magnesium

Postpartum intrauterine fetal demise (PP IUFD)

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum Experience : 2 years of recent Antepartum or related maternal care experience

Epic Charting Experience : Required

Dysrhythmia Interpretation Proficiency : Required

Travel Experience : Not required (first-time travelers welcome)

Certifications

(All must be active and in-hand at time of submission)

Required : BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring

Preferred : Advanced fetal monitoring

Core Clinical Skills

IV & Cardiac Care

Starting and maintaining IVs

Blood product administration

Central line maintenance (CVC / PICC)

Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation

Participation in Rapid Response / Code teams

Labor & Delivery / Antepartum Care

Assist with high-risk or vaginal deliveries

Postpartum hemorrhage management

Magnesium sulfate therapy

Non-Stress Tests (NSTs)

External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)

Postpartum & Newborn Care

Fundus and lochia assessment

Foley management

Breastfeeding and lactation support

Neonatal resuscitation and thermoregulation

Work Environment

Patient Age Groups : Adults, Infants

Unit Beds : 17

Daily Census : ~9 patients

Support Services : IV Team, Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Work, Rapid Response, Interpreter Services, Unit Secretary
