Communications Specialist at Saint Bridget Catholic Church
Saint Bridget Catholic Church is seeking a part time Communications Specialist.
The communications specialist supports the mission of our Church and handles our online presence (web and emails) and social media.
This position will be responsible for writing content for a wide range of communications, include our website, social media posts, informative emails, etc.
A bachelor’s degree in English, Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field with at least 2-3 years of experience in communications or related field.
The position of Communications Specialist is a part-time position (20 hours per week). Normal working hours are Monday Friday, 9 : 00. 1 : 00 pm.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Writes content for a wide range of communications, including St. Bridget website, social media posts, informative emails, etc.
- Keeps up to date on social media trends and analysis.
- Writes and edits website content to ensure consistency with office style and (text, images, graphics, audio-visual, URLs, links, and files) the overall content of the website is reflective of the voice and priorities of our parish.
- Assists with photography as requested.
- Assists in maintaining communication files and good working relations with parish, parish and school staff and volunteers.
- Professionally interacts with the general public whether by phone, email and person-to-person.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
A bachelor’s degree in English / Mass Communications / Journalism / Public Relations or relevant field. At least 2-3 years working in communications or related field.
Must have extensive knowledge and experience working with social media platforms, strategy, and platform tools. Analytics of this platform is a plus.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office and WordPress is required. Proficiency in Adobe software and Flock note is a plus. Good working knowledge of the structure and teachings of the Catholic Church is expected.
Excellent written and oral communications skills with a strong attention to detail. Self-motivated with strong organizational and planning skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a proven track record of completing multiple projects under deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work well under pressure.
