Job description

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated Child and Family Mental Health Therapist to provide diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapy for outpatient services. The therapist will use individual, family, and group modalities to address the mental health needs of children and adolescents.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Conduct evaluations and implement therapeutic interventions for children under 12, adolescents aged 13-18, and their families seeking mental health services.
  • Perform assessments with comprehensive formulation, differential diagnosis, treatment, and safety planning.
  • Utilize evidenced-based approaches for therapy, including individual, family, and group sessions.
  • Effectively communicate with parents, external agencies, school systems, and other providers regarding treatment plans.
  • Consult with child psychiatrists on patient progress and strategies; collaborate with attending physicians for hospitalized patients.
  • Maintain timely and appropriate documentation of all clinical services and interactions.
  • Engage with medical providers regarding patient symptoms, treatment plans, response to interventions, and recommendations.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Experience :
  • Minimum of two (2) years of post-masters practice experience in applied psychotherapy for the pediatric population (ages 0-18) within the last 5 years, or one (1) year of post-doctoral practice experience under appropriate supervision.

  • Education :
  • Master’s level degree required (M.S.W., M.S., M.A., M.Ed).

  • License, Certification, Registration :
  • This position requires credentials from multiple states. Applicants must possess relevant credentials from their primary work state at hire, with additional credentials from secondary work states required post-hire. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Oregon) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (Washington) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

  • Additionally, candidates must have a National Provider Identifier at hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in child and adolescent intensive outpatient programs or residential programs, including group evidence-based treatment methods such as DBT or Mindfulness.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation.
  • Training or experience in CBT, DBT, family therapy, parent management training, and / or Collaborative Problem Solving.
  • Specific training in interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Emphasis or specialization in child, adolescent, and family dynamics, along with understanding of emotional, cognitive, and social development.
  • LCSW, PsyD, or PhD preferred.
  • Primary Location : Oregon, Salem, Skyline Medical Offices

    Hours per Week : 40

    Shift : Day

    Workdays : Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri

    Working Hours : 08 : 00 AM - 05 : 00 PM
