Senior Project Manager

About the Job-

The Senior Project Manager oversees and directs all phases of a construction project on the competitive sealed proposals side of the company .

This position will design and implement project plans; communicate concerns regarding project cost, staffing, and scheduling directly with contractors / designers;

prepare project status reports and work to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications. We are looking for someone local in the Houston area with experience in Senior Project Management to add to our Houston branch.

Our office location for this position is- 16875 Diana lane Houston, TX 77058.

The Opportunity-

Jamail and Smith is looking for a Senior Project Manager that has a passion for the construction industry! As our company continues to grow, we are looking for someone who can join our project management team and contribute to success on projects in the Houston area.

This candidate would preferably have experience in renovation and addition construction, and a well rounded knowledge of the commercial construction industry.

What You Will Do-

• Manage, plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and submit proposal estimates, budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, environmental regulations, or other regulations.
• Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction / maintenance of structures, facilities, and / or systems.
• Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
• Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
• Develop and implement quality control programs and environmental protection programs.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including the administrative staff, workers, and clients.
• Perform, or contract others to perform, pre-building assessments, such as conceptual cost estimating, rough order or magnitude estimating, feasibility, or energy efficiency, environmental, and sustainability assessments.
• Apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses.
• Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, using computer models.
• Supervise construction related workers.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
• Other duties as necessary.

What You Bring To The Table-

• High School diploma or general education degree required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or equivalent field preferred.
• Experience in K-12 or higher level education construction.
• Experience in project management required.
• The ability to create & keep relationships with subcontractors.
• Proven leadership skills
• Experience in Procore
• Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
• Proficient computer skills
