Physical Therapist Riverside, California Employment Type: Full-time
Physical Therapist is a vital member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitative physical therapy services to participants. The role focuses on maximizing independence, safety, and quality of life for elderly and frail participants while collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Unlike traditional high-volume therapy environments, this position allows you to form long-term participant relationships, work closely with other disciplines, and maintain true work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments to determine participant needs, preferences, and goals.
- Participate in IDT meetings to collaboratively develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver and document therapy interventions including active/passive exercise, gait training, ADL support, and use of therapeutic modalities (massage, heat, sound, water, light, electricity).
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, providing training and guidance for Functional Maintenance Programs (FMP).
- Educate staff, participants, and caregivers on therapy techniques and equipment use.
- Support continuous quality improvement in care delivery.
Education: - Required: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- Preferred: Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
Experience: - Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred, ideally with elderly or frail populations
- Experience in outpatient, acute care, inpatient, or skilled nursing environments preferred
Licensure & Certifications: - Valid California Physical Therapy License (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Current CPR certification preferred
