This role helps ensure pets receive excellent medical attention and clients feel informed and supported throughout their visit. Daily responsibilities include caring for hospitalized patients, assisting with anesthesia and surgical procedures, performing dental cleanings and radiographs, running in-house lab tests, and obtaining clear diagnostic images. Veterinary Nurses also guide clients through treatment plans, demonstrate at-home care when needed, and handle routine nurse appointments such as vaccines, blood draws, bandage changes, nail trims, and post-op checks. This position also supports smooth clinic operations by assisting during exams, preparing medications, maintaining organized workspaces, keeping accurate records and charges, managing inventory, and occasionally answering phone calls as part of a shared team effort. The role offers variety, ongoing learning, and meaningful involvement in every part of the patient care process. Qualifications Strong initiative, communication skills, and attention to detail Ability to work effectively within a team and in a fast-paced clinical setting High School Diploma required Either : Associate’s degree in animal care / veterinary technology / veterinary assistant and at least one year of veterinary experience OR three or more years of experience as a veterinary nurse or assistant Physical & Environmental Expectations Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and patient handling Ability to lift 50+ pounds and assist with large dogs Exposure to frightened or aggressive animals, infectious disease, odors, noise, and bodily fluids Employment Type : Full Time Salary : $16 - $20 Hourly Bonus / Commission : Yes
