Sun River Health is hiring : Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York

Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist to support our Sutphin location.

The Licensed Creative Arts Therapist plans and conducts art therapy sessions to improve clients' physical, cognitive, or emotional well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Facilitate art therapy groups for all clients.

Maintain inventory of art supplies and order as needed.

Attend all mandatory in-service programs including fire safety, infection control, clinical HIV / AIDS manifestations, transmission, prevention, psycho-social issues, confidentiality and client’s rights.

Use the creative processes to bring out artistic self-expression to help clients resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight.

Design art therapy sessions or programs in consultation with clients or site administrators to meet client's goals and objectives. Gather client information from sources such as case documentation, client observation, or interviews of client.

Assess client needs or disorders using drawing, painting, sculpting, or other artistic processes. Analyze or synthesize client data to draw conclusions or make recommendations for art therapy.

Select or prepare artistic media or related equipment or devices to accomplish therapy session objectives.

Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate art therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy techniques. Provide guided self-expression experiences to help clients recover from or cope with cognitive, emotional, or physical impairments.

Write treatment plans, case summaries or other reports related to individual clients or client groups.

Confer with other professionals on client's treatment team to develop, coordinate, or integrate treatment plans.

Attend daily briefings and / or debriefings during rounds with ADHC team.

Develop projects to showcase Art Therapy, including printed booklets of artwork and creative writing, art installations onsite, and promotion of Art Therapy with the agency.

Minimum Education Requirement :

Master’s degree in Art Therapy.

Minimum Related Work Experience : 2-4 years.

Job Type : Full-Time

Salary Range : $83,555.00 - $88,195.00 Annually.
