Entry Level Decommissioning Technician

The Decommissioning Technical team is responsible for processing and facilitating large scale legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed off premises. Team members will also process large volumes of customer media to ensure that all customer media is sanitized and properly managed. Proper accountability of equipment throughout the process is of great importance. This Entry Level position requires candidates to be a self-starter, highly motivated individual who can adhere to strict processes and be able to diligently perform repetitive tasks with no deviation and deliver consistent results. Team Members will be working in a team environment not only with other members of the team, but also from other teams and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality. Amazon Data Centers protect customer data with utmost vigilance, and selected candidates must be able to perform repetitive tasks without fault and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that ensures customer data is protected and properly handled. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS / SCI security clearance with polygraph.

• Take ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution
• Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context
• Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work in cramped and / or elevated locations
• Maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
• Are biased to act in the absence of direction or support
• Improve effectiveness through process innovation
