This role is responsible for coding and posting specialty (non-surgical) procedures, updating the Missing Surgical Data report, and preparing reports and visit documentation from HealthBridge for billing. The coder will also register new patients and review coding questions or errors identified through system edits, staff inquiries, or leadership review. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of coding practices are essential for success in this role.
Education / Experience :
- High School Diploma required; some college or technical training preferred
- Minimum five years' work experience, with at least two years' healthcare coding experience
- CPC or other coding certification is desirable
Skills :

Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports the mission and values of Mayfield Clinic.Code and bill healthcare services accurately and timely mannerBill inpatient E&M and other procedures accurately and timely mannerCommunicate timely with physicians on billing and documentation questions and issues as needed.Assist management in monitoring policies and procedures to ensure accurate coding and billing of all services, and in developing new forms, policies, and processes as needed.Perform monthly reconciliation of services billed to services provided, to ensure complete charge capture and accurate billing records.Perform a monthly review of assigned encounters for accuracy and opportunities for continued education.Resolve questions and issues needing coder review.J-18808-Ljbffr
