Key Responsibilities

The Field Service Technician performs testing, analysis, and servicing of power distribution equipment at commercial and industrial sites. This role supports both field and facility operations and requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

• Safely handle and dispose of oils, solvents, and other liquid compounds in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Utilize hand tools and pneumatic equipment for mechanical tasks and repairs.
• Ability to operate cutting torch to cut metal parts.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to support shop and field activities.
• Ability to extract oil samples from transformers and reseal units to prevent future leaks.
• Maintain accountability for all tools and equipment within assigned work areas.
• Travel throughout the Emerald Transformer service territory to perform field service work; occasional overnight stays near customer sites are required.
• Must be willing to work overtime. May be asked to work on weekend assignments as operational needs dictate.
• Work requires close interaction with other associates. Must be able to function in a team-oriented environment.
• When field service is not scheduled, perform assigned duties at the home facility as directed by the Plant Manager.
• Work with another field crew may also be assigned as needed. This assignment can be with / for any entity within Emerald Transformer.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and clients during service interactions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized worksite at all times, adhering to company safety protocols and standards.
