Director, Health And Safety - Construction
Directs the various elements of the health and safety program for the firm. Develops and implements the strategy to continuously improve and promote the firm's H&S procedures, policies, standards and operational guidance. Provides direction for the implementation of the firm's health and safety manuals and updates as required by law or standard. Oversees the development and implementation of the new employee safety orientation, H&S programs for global operations, and the firm's substance abuse testing programs; updates as required. Oversees third party audit programs. Directs the development of the firm's H&S training as required by local, state or federal law and the company's H&S policies and procedures. Oversees the day to day activity of H&S staff. Provides feedback on performance appraisals. Manages the development and training of H&S staff. Approves paid time off requests (PTO) and ensures human resources policies are followed. Provides technical and management guidance to other H&S professionals in the firm. Develops and modifies health and safety related policies as required by local, state and federal regulations. Manages periodic audits to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies and procedures. Reviews periodic health and safety reporting and recommends strategic safety initiatives to monitor the firm's performance, maintain compliance, identify potential risks and take corrective action. Provides direction for accident investigations of on-the-job injuries or vehicle accidents to identify causes and opportunities for corrective action. Performs periodic reviews of compensable injury reports generated by insurance carrier and determines if levels of monetary reserves are appropriate. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree. Certifications may be required depending on federal, state, local or contract requirements. 15 years of related experience. Domestic and / or international travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications : Construction safety management experience Workers Compensation Management experience Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification Experience within the water / wastewater industry

Pay Range Minimum : $148,637
Pay Range Maximum : $260,166
Additional Compensation : All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
