We're looking for a Project Engineer to support our project management team on high-end custom residential construction projects. In this role, you'll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects run smoothly from pre-construction through final punch list. You'll play a key role in communication, documentation, and coordination, helping to deliver custom homes that reflect Conrado's commitment to precision, quality, and exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers throughout the full lifecycle of custom home construction projects.
- Assist with project set-up, permitting, and closeout.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and designers to ensure clear communication and timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain up-to-date drawings, specs, and materials info for the project team.
- Manage and organize project documentation through our construction management software.
- Track project schedules, RFIs, and submittals.
- Take site photos, document progress, and prepare regular reports for internal and client updates.
- Support project accounting processes, including creating subcontracts, coordinating pay applications, creating budget adjustments, and ensuring accurate documentation to support timely and organized financial reporting.
- Assist with ordering materials, scheduling job site deliveries, and coordinating pickups.
- Oversee day-to-day site operations in the Project Manager's absence, ensuring safety, quality, and communication are maintained.
- Help enforce job site safety practices and quality control.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).1-3 years of experience in construction, preferably in high-end residential or custom homes.Familiarity with construction management software (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, Buildertrend, etc.).Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Excellent written and verbal communication skills; empathetic listener and calm problem solver.Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Team-oriented with a proactive, can-do attitude.Thrives in a unique, dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day is different and new challenges are welcomed.Valid CA Driver's license with a minimum of three years driving experience and a satisfactory driving record and typical insurance rating.Work Location & Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based at one of our active job sites in the South Bay or mid-Peninsula. Occasional travel to our headquarters or other project locations may be required. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to reach project sites within approximately up to 1 hour of our headquarters.
You'll spend most of your time in the field, working closely with team members, subcontractors, and clients. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (sun, wind, rain, and temperature changes) and on uneven terrain. This role requires adaptability, collaboration, and hands-on engagement in the dynamic environment of custom home construction.
