Senior Manager, AI Automation Strategy
As part of TELUS Digital's Data & AI team, you will lead and coordinate automation assessment engagements, identifying opportunities for robotic process automation (RPA) and agentic automation across client business processes. The role will maintain an in-office presence in a hybrid capacity and can be located in Boston, MA; Columbus, OH; Charlottesville, VA; or Durham, NC.

The Opportunity
We're seeking a Senior Manager with consulting and technical architecture experience to manage the end-to-end assessment lifecycle. You will scoping engagements, coordinating stakeholders, facilitating discovery sessions, and ensuring timelines and deliverables stay on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assessments : manage intake, scoping, triage, and develop tailored solution recommendations.
- Business process mapping : facilitate discovery sessions, document and analyze current-state processes, identify inefficiencies and high-automation potential.
- Opportunity identification : evaluate workflows to surface high-impact opportunities for RPA and agentic automation aligned with business goals.
- Project setup & tracking : establish and maintain project plans, ensuring clear scope, timelines, deliverables, and progress tracking.
- Delivery coordination : liaise with delivery teams to support assessment handoff, kickoff planning, and initial tracking.
- Stakeholder management : serve as the primary point of contact, facilitating alignment, surfacing risks, and enabling timely decisions.
- Workload prioritization : manage incoming requests and triage to prioritize opportunities based on impact, feasibility, and capacity.
- Team collaboration : partner closely with strategy, automation, and technical teams to align engagement success.
Qualifications
5+ years in project management, consulting, or delivery roles, ideally within technology or operations.Strong project management skills, including developing plans, tracking milestones, managing risks, and coordinating stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple assessments or initiatives simultaneously in a structured, detail-oriented manner.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to assess complex processes and identify high-value opportunities.Business acumen and comfort advising stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.Excellent verbal and written communication; experience presenting to cross-functional or executive audiences.Familiarity with RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and conceptual understanding of agentic AI technologies.Experience with contact center workflows, systems, and automation use cases.Process improvement mindset; ability to synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations.Comfort working independently and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced, evolving environments.Experience collaborating across distributed teams using virtual collaboration tools (Miro, Slack, Jira, Confluence).Bonus Points
Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, telecom, public sector).Exposure to AI governance or data privacy considerations.Working knowledge of service design or journey mapping.Equal Opportunity Employer
