About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Data Analyst to support the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) by analyzing financial expenditure / execution datasets to uncover issues and anomalies. The ideal candidate :
- Approaches data with an investigative mindset
- Possesses advanced analytical skill in MS Excel
- Has a strong understanding of accounting and financial expenditure / execution datasets
- Enjoys learning and solving puzzles
- Is intrinsically motivated to understand the root cause of issues
In this role, you will not be expected to know everything on Day 1. Rather, the team is deployed with a mentorship model whereby senior team members (seasoned in F-35 JPO sustainment) provide hands-on mentorship and training to climb the learning curve of the JPO environment. This mentorship-model is designed to drive process efficiencies, cost-effectiveness, and ultimately, mission success in a high-stakes defense landscape. Your insights, honed over time, will be critical in transforming traditional sustainment practices into a modern, dynamic system that supports operational readiness.
A note from the hiring team : It takes at 6-12 months to learn the client environment given their specialized processes, acronyms, and systems – even for personnel who've spent careers in uniform. In this role, you'll learn, grow, and build expertise in one of the most complex military programs active today.
What You'll Do
The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program stands at the forefront of military innovation, combining advanced technology with complex operational demands. To support this high-stakes environment, Iberia delivers data analytics expertise to the customer's sustainment services. The Financial Data Analyst will (be trained to) perform the following :
Reconcile large financial datasets from non-integrated systems (e.g. CCaR, ERP, MOCAS, DCAS, etc)Identify and investigate issuesConduct root cause analysesGenerate and present insights to various stakeholdersBuild mastery of the financial data environmentDevelop strong relationships with team members and stakeholders to define and enhance legacy business operationsHelp compile data for reports, briefings, and leadership materials.Coordinate with internal stakeholders to assist in completing daily tasks.Perform other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
Advanced skill in MS ExcelProficient in O365 (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)2+ years of experience in an accounting or data analysis role with strong analytical and mathematical abilitySkilled in asking clear, insightful questions and articulating a point of viewStrong attention to detail and completist tendenciesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Experience in forensic accounting and / or designing analytical audit procedures for Income Statement (commercial) / Statement of Net Cost (federal) line itemsExperience with data tools and / or programming languages for example (but not limited to) VBA, R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, etc.Relevant certifications include (but are not limited to) : CDFM, CGFM, CPA, CFE, CIA, etc.Veterans and military dependents are strongly encouraged to apply, as their experiences and knowledge align with project delivery.What Matters Most
