SUMMARY

We are seeking a knowledgeable, motivated Brewer to become part of the Finestkind Brewing Team. This position works through the entire process of using raw ingredients to the final production of bright beer ready for packaging.

Quality and safety are key components of this position's overall responsibilities. Operation and upkeep of equipment and maintaining quality control throughout all aspects of the Brewing and Cellar processes will be a focus for this position.

This includes, but not limited to, wort production, yeast and fermentation management, tank CIP, and operating the centrifuge.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete brewing process in a safe and efficient manner. This includes, but is not limited to, milling, mashing, and lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring to fermenters
Uses centrifuge to process and clarify all beer to specific beer quality standards
Harvest, pitch and evaluate yeast as needed
Monitor gravities, temperatures, DO, and carbonations daily
Work with Lab Technician to ensure our product meets our standards of the highest quality
Communicate regularly and efficiently with team members
Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Follow SOP's to meet quality specifications
Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time
Routinely cleans and sanitizes all tanks in cellar
Maintain cleanliness of all areas in the brew house and cellar
Assist other departments when necessary, including but not limited to Packaging, Maintenance, Warehouse and QA / QC / Lab
Maintaining the use of standard operating procedures unless otherwise instructed
Perform others duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A four-year degree and / or completion of formal brewing courses is preferred
A thorough level of understanding of brewing and cellaring with automatic process interfaces as well as manual brewing operations is desirable, but most importantly a willingness to develop and learn
Ability to direction well, follow verbal and written SOP's
Must be hands-on, active in the daily activities of the brewery, and knowledgeable of all related processes
Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices
Ability to accommodate scheduling changes as needed
Ability to lift 55lbs
