SUMMARY
Responsible for field level implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines as instructed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for field observations, to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with multiple contractors in the chemical industry.
This position will require you to work many days consecutively, and on 12 hour shifts. Currently seeking one position for days & one position for nights.
Make job walks and get familiar with the units you will be working in. Learn the equipment, etc.
• Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed by contractors.
• Assist, with plan to implement move in/out contractor safety training for employee orientation programs.
• Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the client’s workplace during on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
• Participate in the safety observation program, submit feedback and assure documents are begin submitted and tracked accordingly.
• Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret incident report data to develop corrective actions to eliminate risk. Assure compliance to company safety policy handbook and site-specific policies.
• Participate in safety walks & audits, provide positive correction advice to employees working at risk.
• Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
• Any other duties deemed necessary in alignment with business & departmental needs.
• Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety
• Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
• Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure
• Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills
• Bilingual is plus
• Excellent people and process management skills
Requirements
MUST BE WILLING TO WORK NIGHTSHIFT
Assist with the ordering, receiving, organization and distribution of material management in a Turnaround environment, MUST HAVE 5YRS MINIMUM TURNAROUND EXPERIENCE.
