Job Summary
Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst is responsible for supporting senior professionals in analyzing and executing mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions for VestGen, a leading wealth management firm. This role offers high exposure to the wealth management industry, with a focus on deal execution, financial modeling, and market research behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis : Assist in financial modeling, model development, valuation analysis, and due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities.
Market Research : Conduct industry and company-specific research to identify trends, assess risks, and support the transaction decision-making process.
Reporting & Documentation : Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and other documentation for internal and prospective client use, summarizing transaction analyses and potential opportunities.
Transaction Support : Help manage the transaction process from initial evaluation through integration, collaborating with cross-deal team members including senior analyst(s), clients, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
Client Interaction : Attend client meetings and assist in developing presentation materials to discuss strategic recommendations and transaction structures with prospects when requested by the Chief Growth Officer or other senior leaders.
Data Management : Maintain and organize financial, due diligence, and transactional data to ensure all information is up to date and accessible for analysis and use.
Collaboration : Work closely with senior team members to gain insights into wealth management, mergers & acquisitions, and merger strategy.
Monthly Reporting : Facilitate the preparation and maintenance of M&A and pipeline-related reporting and pipeline management while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
Analytical Skills : Strong ability to analyze financial statements, perform financial modeling, and create valuations.
Attention to Detail : High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in analysis and report preparation.
Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills to present complex financial concepts to clients and team members.
Software Proficiency : Experience with Excel for financial modeling, and familiarity with PowerPoint for presentations. Knowledge of financial tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar platforms is a plus.
Time Management : Ability to manage multiple tasks and workflows while prioritizing work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Internship Experience : Previous internship experience in finance, investment banking, or wealth management is a plus.
Certifications : Enrollment in or pursuit of CFA, Series 7, or other relevant professional certifications is an advantage.
Knowledge : Familiarity with M&A processes, capital markets, and private wealth management is beneficial.
