ABOUT THE ROLE

Holcim US is recruiting full-time Diesel Mechanics based in our Mansfield, Hemphill, Blue Mound, and Prosper shops. This position will maintain and repair heavy construction, automotive equipment, mechanical equipment, and machinery for our Dallas / Ft Worth Ready Mix Division.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As directed and guided by the Maintenance Supervisor, the essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following :

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures. Provide repair and maintenance to diesel and gasoline engines. Adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems. Maintain and repair chassis, frames, and bodies. Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges and meters. Lubricate equipment. Maintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes, and valves. Perform shop management functions such as maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory control; making estimates of material, labor, and equipment requirements.
• Maintain an effective system of communication with supervisors and customers.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Assist other mechanics as needed.
• Have basic computer proficiency and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have good organizational skills, be able to meet strict deadlines, and document issues and procedures.
• Can work in a team atmosphere and learn new tasks
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work unsupervised.
• Other duties as needed
