Are you passionate about histology and seeking a rewarding career opportunity? We are currently seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team in Long Island, New York, on a permanent basis. Your expertise will play a crucial role in our laboratory's operations, contributing to the vital process of specimen embedding, microtomy, quality control / quality assurance, and more.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform specimen embedding and microtomy with precision and accuracy.
• Actively participate in quality control / quality assurance procedures.
• Efficiently file blocks and slides, ensuring accurate documentation and distribution.
• Contribute to supply inventory management and ordering processes, if applicable.
• Utilize LIS (Laboratory Information System), Powerpath, and Omni-Trax effectively.
• Master the use of the Cryostat for the preparation of frozen sections.
• Maintain and troubleshoot histology equipment, including tissue processors, staining machines, and others.
• Perform slide cover slipping and labeling with attention to detail.
• Execute H / E and special staining techniques and prepare solutions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

PAY RANGE : Depends on experience ($35 - $55 / hour)
