Join our dedicated team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients in a fast-paced orthopedic surgical environment. We are looking for a reliable and experienced individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and excels in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support nursing staff with patient care before and after surgery in a Same Day Surgery setting.
- Document and monitor vital signs, height, weight, and pain levels during patient admissions and discharges.
- Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring proper identification and comfort.
- Assist patients with hygiene, mobility, and daily activities as necessary.
- Facilitate safe patient transport and positioning around the surgical unit.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during transitions in and out of the operating rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas and equipment.
- Assist in preparing operating rooms for new cases, including waste removal and surface cleaning.
- Stock and organize surgical and anesthesia supplies within the operating suites.
- Set up and maintain anesthesia machines and necessary equipment throughout procedures.
- Follow strict infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols at all times.
- Accurately record patient care activities in electronic medical records.
- Communicate effectively with nursing, surgical, and anesthesia teams to provide coordinated care.
- Offer compassionate support to patients and their families during their surgical journey.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory (or to be obtained upon hiring).Preferred experience includes roles such as OR tech, anesthesia tech, or orderly.Ability to safely lift, transport, and position patients.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Proven attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.Equal Employment Opportunity & Workforce Diversity
