PRN Patient Care Technician

Join our dedicated team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients in a fast-paced orthopedic surgical environment. We are looking for a reliable and experienced individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and excels in collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support nursing staff with patient care before and after surgery in a Same Day Surgery setting.
• Document and monitor vital signs, height, weight, and pain levels during patient admissions and discharges.
• Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring proper identification and comfort.
• Assist patients with hygiene, mobility, and daily activities as necessary.
• Facilitate safe patient transport and positioning around the surgical unit.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during transitions in and out of the operating rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas and equipment.
• Assist in preparing operating rooms for new cases, including waste removal and surface cleaning.
• Stock and organize surgical and anesthesia supplies within the operating suites.
• Set up and maintain anesthesia machines and necessary equipment throughout procedures.
• Follow strict infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols at all times.
• Accurately record patient care activities in electronic medical records.
• Communicate effectively with nursing, surgical, and anesthesia teams to provide coordinated care.
• Offer compassionate support to patients and their families during their surgical journey.
