Position : Senior Electrical Engineer

Location :

34 Parker, Irvine, California

Position Description :

The Senior Electrical Engineer in this position will be responsible for a wide gamut of electrical engineering tasks including circuit and subsystem design, system integration, troubleshooting, wire harness design, electromechanical / electrical system testing, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work well both on an individual basis and in a team environment. The candidate must be able to function and communicate in an interdisciplinary team (mechanical, manufacturing, aerodynamic, firmware / software, etc.). This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager, while working directly with Vehicle Technical Leads and Program Managers.

Responsibilities :

  • Design and build subsystem / hardware / software for our aircraft systems
  • Define subsystem requirements and specifications
  • Prepare and create schematics, engineering drawings, test plans / procedures, data reports, presentations and work instructions
  • Collaborate with mechanical, GNC, manufacturing, aerodynamic, procurement, quality assurance, and project / program management teams
  • Communicate engineering findings to technical and non-technical individuals
  • Mentor other engineers, providing technical guidance and support, as well as constructive feedback
  • Demonstrate and encourage adherence to best practices and standard procedures

Required Skills / Qualifications :

  • Proven understanding of Electrical Engineering principles
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with electrical components and systems
  • Ability to architect and design electrical / electromechanical systems
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting, validating / testing, and analyzing subsystems / systems
  • Experience in documenting designs and analyses with written reports, presentations, and engineering drawings
  • Ability to design using CAD software such as Altium
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred Skills / Qualifications :

  • Experience in designing robotic and / or aircraft systems
  • UAV experience highly desired
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and firmware / software
  • Experience in small to medium sized teams in an R&D environment
  • Familiar with MIL spec hardware and harnessing standards
  • Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years progressive experience
  • Travel :

  • Some travel required

  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install / move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
  • May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
  • Other Requirements :

    It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

    Salary : $145,000-$185,000 annually

    Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and / or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or $annual bonus.
