Job Description ProMedica Toledo Hospital is one of the largest acute-care facilities in the region. Our 794-bed hospital is staffed by more than 4,800 professional healthcare employees who serve a 27-county area throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

We also have the areas largest board-certified medical staff, which is made up of more than 1,000 primary care and specialty physicians.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are a must. In addition, for 15 consecutive years, residents of Greater Toledo have named us the Consumer Choice Award winner in our market.

In fact, were the only hospital in northwest Ohio to receive this honor.

Position Summary :

Our Nutrition Services Department makes healthy and enjoyable meals for our patients. We are happy to provide any special food need orders due to medical, religious, cultural or personal reasons.

The food service worker has a vital role in cooking food for patients, employees, and visitors on a larger scale. An ideal candidate would be one that enjoys cooking, being productive, and has great customer service with a caring attitude towards patients, employees, and visitors.

With the many different areas of a kitchen, no two days are the same and the employee can learn different culinary skills depending on their assigned area.

Job Requirements

• Requires attention to detail, ability to follow written and verbal directions and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Some knowledge of weights and measurements.
• Requires the ability to make change and keep records accurately.
• Ability to move about the hospital and between workstations.
• Ability to communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to temperature changes, humid / hot conditions and unpleasant odors.
• Occasionally move heavy carts and frequently lift light to medium weight equipment and supplies.
• Ability to maintain a productive work pace.
