About Us

Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting is a leader in large-scale marine construction, dredging, and environmental remediation projects. With decades of experience in federal, state, and private-sector projects, we specialize in executing complex, high-value operations that demand precision, efficiency, and expertise.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Project QA/QC Manager to lead quality assurance and control efforts across major marine construction and dredging projects. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards while also developing and improving quality processes to enhance project efficiency.

The ideal candidate has experience in QA/QC programs, regulatory compliance, inspections, and process improvement within marine construction, dredging, or heavy civil infrastructure projects. This role requires extensive travel, fieldwork in various environmental conditions, and a strong commitment to safety and quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance (QA) Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct quality audits and process evaluations to identify and mitigate potential quality risks.
  • Work closely with project teams to train and enforce best practices for maintaining quality throughout project execution.
  • Ensure that contractor and subcontractor quality programs align with company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and superintendents to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency.

Quality Control (QC) Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enforce quality control measures across all project phases, including inspections and testing.
  • Conduct site inspections, verify adherence to project plans and specifications, and document findings.
  • Manage QA/QC documentation, submittals, and reporting to ensure compliance with client and regulatory expectations.
  • Coordinate with survey teams to validate dredging and marine construction performance.
  • Monitor material compliance, equipment calibration, and testing procedures.
  • Investigate quality-related issues, document non-conformances, and lead corrective action implementation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in QA/QC roles within marine construction, dredging, or heavy civil infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and QA/QC best practices.
  • Experience working with federal, state, and private-sector clients.
  • Proficiency in inspection procedures, process evaluations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using QA/QC tracking software and construction management tools preferred.
  • Engineering, construction management, or a related technical degree is preferred but not required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, carry, lift, and move 50 lbs. frequently, up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to climb ladders (30’), stairs, and work at heights on unsteady surfaces near or above navigable waters.
  • Must be comfortable working on tugs, barges, survey boats, and other vessels in severe weather conditions.
  • Requires standing for extended periods on hard surfaces and negotiating uneven, slippery, or moving surfaces.
  • Ability to work in tight quarters and confined spaces, including areas with high-voltage and mechanical systems.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and variable environments, including exposure to mechanical parts, high places, and electrical hazards.
  • Work involves 12-hour rotating shifts (7 days per week, 14 days on, 7 days off) with the flexibility to work long hours, nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Salary: The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $205,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
