Job Summary

Under the general direction of the University Open Computer Lab Coordinator and working in a team environment, the University Open Computer Lab Assistant provides assistance to students and escalates technical issues, as appropriate. Tracks the usage and maintenance of computers, printers, and equipment within the University Horn Center Computer Lab.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing On-Site Support to Students and Faculty : Provide customer support, in a friendly manner, to students, faculty, and staff in the Horn Center.
• Being a Liaison Between Students and Technical Resources : Observe, document, and resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
• Inventory management : Ensure equipment in assigned areas is secure, complete and in good working conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to approach tasks and responsibilities collaboratively to work within the core values of Academic Technology Services. The ability to use with both Windows and Apple OS systems preferred. Ability to take initiative and organize, coordinate, and work in a high-paced office with accurate results. Ability to work cooperatively with all faculty, staff and students to ensure processes are completed accurately and efficiently. Strong attention to detail. Ability to monitor and review information and identify discrepancies. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
