Position Summary
Urban Atlantic Development is seeking a dynamic and driven Real Estate Development Associate to support the Director of Development in managing all phases of the development lifecycle—from acquisition through construction and stabilization. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills who is passionate about urban development and community building.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination
- Assist in managing development timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects
- Coordinate with internal and external teams, consultants, contractors, and public agencies
- Track project milestones and prepare weekly status reports
Financial Analysis & Modeling
Support financial modeling for acquisitions, development pro formas, and investment analysisAssist in preparing investor presentations and funding packagesConduct market research and feasibility studiesEntitlements & Approvals
Help prepare and submit zoning, permitting, and entitlement applicationsLiaise with municipal agencies and attend public hearings as neededTrack regulatory compliance and approval timelinesDesign & Construction Oversight
Participate in design review meetings and coordinate feedback with architects and engineersMonitor construction progress and assist in resolving field issuesReview change orders, pay applications, and construction schedulesCommunity & Stakeholder Engagement
Support community outreach efforts and stakeholder communicationsOrganizing public meetings and preparing presentation materialsDocument follow-up and integrate into project planningDocumentation & Reporting
Maintain organized project files and documentationPrepare internal and external reports for senior leadership and partnersSupport due diligence and closing processes for acquisitions and financingQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or related field2 – 4 years of experience in real estate development, engineering, construction, investment, or related industryStrong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and project management toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPassion for urban development and community impactPreferred Skills
Experience with mixed-use, affordable, multifamily, and land development projectsFamiliarity with public-private partnerships and government funding programsExperience managing consultants and expediting entitlement processesBenefits
