About The Position

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

PIV starts

IV medication administration

Wound care

Medication administration

Pain management

Patient and family education

Care coordination

Monitoring vitals / labs and patient condition changes

Initial and ongoing patient assessments

Implementation of care plans

Description :

The role involves providing care for patients requiring medical-surgical and telemetry services.

Patients typically include adults aged 65 and older with diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, delirium, dementia, UTI, pneumonia, and flu.

Staffing ratios generally follow a 1 : 5-6 ratio, with potential increases during surge staffing periods.

Travelers may be required to float within the region and will be compensated for travel time between facilities.

Support staff includes CNAs who assist with vital signs, bathing, feeding, mobility, fall prevention, and basic patient care.

Unit secretaries provide assistance on day shifts, while charge RNs are available 24 / 7.

Interdisciplinary team support includes respiratory therapists and hospitalists available around the clock.

Telemetry monitoring is conducted remotely for patients with orders for telemetry services.

The facility utilizes an electronic medical record system along with various medical equipment for patient safety.

Scrub colors for RNs are navy blue.
