About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for the Kansas City and Greater Kansas market. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Development department, with a primary focus on increasing mission activities through the effective implementation of fundraising initiatives. This role requires the creation of an environment where staff and volunteers can successfully partner to meet strategic imperatives. The Executive Director will be the lead fundraiser, responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue goals related to special events, corporate development, and individual giving. This includes the management of fundraising staff, the development of a personal portfolio of local corporate and individual prospects, and fostering a culture of philanthropy. The role also involves volunteer recruitment and engagement, operational and fiscal management, and serving as the first point of contact for the company's mission in the market.
Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in non-profit management, marketing, or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years' experience in non-profit management with a proven track record in revenue generation. Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities and work as part of a larger nationwide team. The role demands a proactive, service-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work with high-level volunteers, and a commitment to the company's mission. Experience in volunteer recruitment and engagement, as well as a background in individual giving, is a plus. The candidate must be able to travel within the assigned area and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, and must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
