• Facility Setting

Both inpatient and outpatient coverage, with call responsibilities

Role Highlights :

• Patient Volume

4-6 patients per shift in the hospital

• Up to 15 patients per shift in the clinic
• Call Requirements

Call response time : 30 minutes

• Beeper call, with 4-6 patient visits during call periods
• 100% callback rate with 4 admissions expected per call period
• Practice Setting

Clinic and call coverage on weekdays, weekend call coverage only, with midwife support on weekdays

Responsibilities :

• Delivery and Surgical Requirements

50 deliveries, including 12 cesareans, within the last 12 months

• 25 gynecological surgeries, with at least 5 major abdominal or vaginal surgeries
• Competency in handling low and high-risk pregnancies, cesareans, VBAC, breech, and multiple births
• Proficiency in routine and complex OB / GYN procedures, such as amniocentesis, low-forceps delivery, and cesarean decision-making
• Experience with gynecological surgeries, including cystectomies, ovary removals, ectopic pregnancy management, and laparoscopic minor procedures

Requirements :

• Board Certification

Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology

• Certifications

ACLS required; intermediate fetal monitoring certification preferred

• Licensure

Must hold or be eligible for an active North Carolina license

• Experience

Minimum recent procedural requirements as listed above

• EMR Systems

Familiarity with McKesson and Athena is a plus

Support Structure :
• Staffing

Includes RNs, CMAs, and midwives to assist during shifts

• Hospital Beds

15-bed OB / GYN unit with full support for inpatient needs

• Call Support

Midwife assistance for weekday calls; physician-only weekend call coverage

Additional Details :

• Credentialing

Estimated 90-day process, with temporary privileges available for candidates with clean malpractice history

• Travel and Lodging

Covered travel expenses, with nearby accommodations in Dillsboro, NC
