The role interns within the Human Resources team will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. HR Leadership Development interns will have the unique opportunity to learn about and gain exposure into the various HR functions at Lumen.

The main responsibilities include : interfacing and partnering with all levels of employees, accomplishing multiple projects simultaneously, assisting with planning of training events, providing best in class customer service, providing analytical support, assisting with recurring reporting activities, assisting with basic instructional design, preparing and organizing presentation slides and storyboards, using intermediate and advanced functions in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, structuring and conveying information in verbal and written presentation formats, researching and collecting data for various HR initiatives, and networking with internal and external constituents.

What we look for in a candidate includes : program eligibility contingent on the candidate's commitment of the entire 10-week program, enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship, graduating December 2026 May 2027, proficiency and understanding of the ability to handle confidential information, HR leadership aspirations, proficient Microsoft office and computer skills, a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines, highly motivated, organized, reliable, and detailed oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills, quick learner and capable of multitasking, and flexible and adapts well to change.

Compensation internship compensation ranges depend on each individual's level of education, geographic location, and experience / qualifications aligned to the role. Hourly based pay range : min : $26 / hour max : $38 / hour.
