Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We're Looking For :

As the Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager on Iridium's IT Data and Analytics team, you will work closely with leaders across product, finance, and marketing to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions.

You will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data and leverage those insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes.

You will build dashboards and data apps and present to stakeholders to communicate your findings. You will bring experience to the table to help the team modernize our approach to communicating findings to the company.

You will use your strong analytical skills to find creative solutions to complex problems using modern tools on a cloud platform to enable your work.

This is an individual contributor position.

What You'll Do :

Interact with business teams and system analysts to understand business requirements and translate to value-add business intelligence solutions.

• Design, build, and deploy BI solutions such as reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc data exploration.
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
• Use advanced analytics skills to generate and deliver quality reports to customers / clients in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
• Use strong communication skills to deliver analytic results and promote the use of BI tools across Iridium.
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
• Develop, analyze, and modify processes, data structures, and models to support analytic outcomes.

What You'll Need to Succeed :

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of proven experience in data science, business intelligence, or a similar role, preferably in a leadership capacity.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
• Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and moderate proficiency in other data manipulation and analysis languages (Python, R, Scala, Java, etc.).
• Experience with cloud data management platforms and architectures (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS data & analytics tools, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to build strong internal relationships and managing key stakeholders, including senior management.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, facilitating understanding and buy-in.
• Proactive and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines and work independently.
• Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in data reporting and analytics.

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table :

• Experience in the telecommunications or related industries (e.g. utilities).
• Experience with IoT analysis or similar big data sets.
• Knowledge of financial metrics and basic accounting concepts (e.g. deferrals).
• Experience with data science projects (i.e. process, interpretation, communication of findings).
• Analytical engineering experience including developing marts and pipelines with tools like dbt.

Work Environment :

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer.

The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. For meetings in person, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
