Job Description
Position Summary & Objective
The Field Service Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Field Service team members. They will lead, plan, and budget field operations to ensure projected targets are achieved. Observe all processes are compliant with relevant laws, and all operations stay within allocated budget. Develop strategies for improvement for efficiency and provide guidance and mentorship to field service staff. The Field Service Operations Manager will also be responsible estimating and providing proposal information for new proposals and change orders pertaining to field service scope of work.

- Cost control, budget management and improvements to as sold margins. (KPI)
- Schedule performance, schedule adherence, on time delivery. (KPI)
- Scope control, assure that all work stated in contract is performed properly and work outside of scope is identified and addressed as changes to the contract. (KPI)
- Safety and Quality Management, assure safety is part of the culture, safety is planned into the work and as it is executed, work is done right the first time, and all records are gathered and maintained as required per AH standards or customer contract requirements. (KPI’s)
- Manage and coordinate the operational activities of Field Service Department to include complex Field Service activities
- Plan staffing of all projects to meet contractual requirements that include field disassembly, reassembly, rehabilitation, and machining
- Implementation of field health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Management responsibilities include supervision of field service team members in USA, Canada or elsewhere
- Oversee training, field tooling, vehicles, housing, and all aspects of Field Service operation
- Risk management and lessons learned
- Proper and advanced project planning
- Forecasting data – Accurate forecast data for the project lifecycles

Essential Functions Performed by the Position
Responsible for the schedule, cost, quality, safety and technical performance of all hydro field service projects in the US and CanadaProvide technical support for all hydro field service obligationsDevelop and implement policies, standards, and procedures to assure the successful execution of AHC field service obligationsAssure that the field service department maintains the proper inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicles to successfully execute AHC field service obligationsAssign proper Field Service resources to projectsCoordination with FS team members and PM when required to provide the tooling and equipment necessary to complete field service contractual requirements in a timely and cost-effective mannerResolve technical issues which arise during the execution of field service contractsDevelopment of process improvements for site operations including disassembly, re-assembly, machining, and welding operationsDevelopment of safety processes and proceduresAssure and lead if necessary proper and timely planning for projects before and during executionProvide forecasting data to the finance departmentProvide estimates, proposal writeups, schedules and risk information to the sales or PM department for proposals.Creates and maintains field service schedules.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field), Industrial Technology, or Business Administration.Equivalent technical diploma or associate degree with extensive field service experience may be considered in place of a bachelor’s.Additional coursework or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP), safety (OSHA, NFPA, ISO standards), or lean / continuous improvement are often preferredExperience Qualifications
5–10+ years of experience in field service operations, maintenance, or engineering roles within the hydro, power generation, or heavy industrial equipment industries.3–5+ years of management experience, including supervision of field service teams, scheduling, and workforce planning.Proven ability to lead and develop a team of 10–20+ direct reportsStrong background in hydropower systems, turbines, generators, pumps, valves, and / or large rotating equipment (installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting).Experience managing budgets, P&L responsibility, service contracts, and customer relationships.Demonstrated ability to enforce EHS (environmental, health & safety) compliance in field operations.Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor a plus) for scheduling, work orders, and reporting.Track record of delivering high-quality service, on-time project completion, and customer satisfaction in the field service environment.Additional Information
