Manufacturing Engineering Manager
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Orlando operations team will oversee the manufacturing engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining production processes for space qualified laser-based electro-optical subsystems. Our team is responsible for delivering high-quality products on time, while controlling costs and meeting program objectives. As a key member of our leadership team, you will directly impact our business performance by ensuring efficient, high-quality production operations who can balance multiple priorities, foster team collaboration, cultivate a high-performance culture and continuously improve our production processes. Your expertise and decision-making will be instrumental in driving our company's success. This position requires expertise in aerospace engineering, manufacturing processes, and effective project management to deliver high-quality spacecraft subsystems efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
Required : Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex DOD production projects with prior leadership experience in operations, engineering, manufacturing, program management or similar. Expert in writing technical specifications or manufacturing work instructions and reading engineering drawings and understanding GD&T. Expert in electro-optical design for manufacturability. Proven experience leading a team of highly skilled manufacturing engineers. Developed manufacturing labor and material proposals in compliance to DFAR regulations. Ability to lead all team members through the process of solving manufacturing engineering issues. Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems for assembly and test. Proven ability to prepare and present Manufacturing & Test Readiness Reviews. Performed capacity planning for product lines. Thorough understanding of high volume electro-optical manufacturing and test concepts including the proven ability to effectively introduce improvement changes to the production and test line. Knowledgeable in AS9100. Proven technical acumen in the manufacture, test and integration of complex product technologies and systems. Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Experience in the development of new product from concept to production.
Desired : 10+ years of experience in a similar leadership position. Solidworks experience. Cross-functional experience working across Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Factory and Program Operations. Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP).
