The Opportunity : \n

  • The Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Orlando operations team will oversee the manufacturing engineering team responsible to develop and maintain production processes for space qualified laser-based electro-optical subsystems. Our team is responsible for delivering high-quality products on time, while controlling costs and meeting program objectives.

  • As a key member of our leadership team, you will directly impact our business performance by ensuring efficient, high-quality production operations who can balance multiple priorities, foster team collaboration, cultivate a high-performance culture and continuously improve our production processes. Your expertise and decision-making will be instrumental in driving our company's success.
  • \n

  • This position requires expertise in aerospace engineering, manufacturing processes, and effective project management to deliver high-quality spacecraft subsystems efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • \n \n

    Responsibilities : \n

  • Provide leadership and direction in the development of strategic initiatives
  • \n

  • Implement process capability monitoring and improvement, to include the use of statistical process control
  • \n

  • Provide direction in problem solving, product or process characterization, process efficiency improvements and continuous improvement activities
  • \n

  • Drive optimization of products for improved manufacturability, cycle time and cost reductions
  • \n

  • Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is incorporated into future products
  • \n

  • Work with engineering to negotiate product specifications and acceptance criteria
  • \n

  • Responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing engineering budgets, schedules and resource planning
  • \n

  • Serve as manufacturing and producibility authority
  • \n

  • Apply engineering skills to optimize value stream and resolve constraints
  • \n

  • Enhance product producibility through cross-functional collaboration
  • \n

  • Create formal manufacturing documentation from design requirements
  • \n

  • Drive data-driven process improvements and innovative solutions
  • \n

  • Support new product introductions and accelerate time to market
  • \n

  • Provide technical input on engineering designs and changes to improve cost, efficiency, and quality
  • \n

  • Drive and support AS9100 initiatives and quality objectives
  • \n \n

    Qualifications : Required :

    \n

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • \n

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex DOD production projects with prior leadership experience in operations, engineering, manufacturing, program management or similar.
  • \n

  • Expert in writing technical specifications or manufacturing work instructions and reading engineering drawings and understanding GD&T.
  • \n

  • Expert in electro-optical design for manufacturability
  • \n

  • Proven experience leading a team of highly skilled manufacturing engineers
  • \n

  • Developed manufacturing labor and material proposals in compliance to DFAR regulations
  • \n

  • Ability to lead all team members though the process of solving manufacturing engineering issues
  • \n

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems for assembly and test
  • \n

  • Proven ability to prepare and present Manufacturing & Test Readiness Reviews
  • \n

  • Performed capacity planning for product lines
  • \n

  • Thorough understanding of high volume electro-optical manufacturing and test concepts including the proven ability to effectively introduce improvement changes to the production and test line
  • \n

  • Knowledgeable in AS9100
  • \n

  • Proven technical acumen in the manufacture, test and integration of complex product technologies and systems
  • \n

  • Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • \n

  • Experience in the development of new product from concept to production
  • \n \n

    Desired : \n

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar leadership position.
  • \n

  • Solidworks experience
  • \n

  • Cross-functional experience working across Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Factory and Program Operations.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP)
  • \n \n

    The proposed salary range for this position is :

    $85,800 - $180,200
