We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analysts with Manufacturing experience to join our team at our Tempe AZ Corp office. Applicants with out Manufacturing experience will not be considered for this role. This position is a Hybrid role that requires 3 days in office.
Job Description : The Senior Financial Analyst in manufacturing is a strategic business partner who oversees the financial health of manufacturing operations by analyzing costs, forecasting performance, and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency. Unlike a general financial analyst, this role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and how they impact financial outcomes.
Financial planning and analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting : Lead the development of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts for manufacturing sites, departments, and capital projects.
- Variance analysis : Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, and conduct detailed analysis to explain variances in material costs, labor, and overhead.
- Reporting : Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership to provide insight into plant performance.
Cost management
Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis : Conduct ongoing cost analysis to determine key components contributing to manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for reduction.Profitability analysis : Work with operations and supply chain teams to analyze product costings and margins, developing strategies to improve profitability.Inventory analysis : Evaluate inventory valuation, levels, and carrying costs to optimize working capital.Strategic business partnership
Decision support : Act as a key business partner to plant directors and manufacturing leadership, providing financial guidance for strategic initiatives.Capital expenditures : Design and refine financial models to evaluate new projects, capital investments, and long-term business strategies, analyzing metrics like Return on Investment (ROI).Cross-functional collaboration : Work closely with operations, procurement, and sales to understand cost drivers, implement improvements, and align financial goals with manufacturing processes.Process improvement and ad-hoc analysis
Process improvement : Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, reporting tools, and data analysis methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.Ad-hoc analysis : Perform specialized financial analysis and reporting on topics such as procurement, lean manufacturing, and productivity initiatives as requested by management.Key qualifications and skills
Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.Experience : 10+ years of experience in financial analysis with mandatory experience in manufacturing, cost accounting, or plant analysis.Cost accounting knowledge : In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles and how they apply to the manufacturing environment.Technical skills : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience with ERP systems (such as NetSuite) and business intelligence (BI) tools.Analytical mindset : Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Communication skills : Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to both finance and non-finance audiences.Interpersonal skills : Strong ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
