The Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law.

Primary Responsibilities :

Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers

Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions

Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist

Required Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years of retail pharmacy experience Or Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program

TSBP Registration

Demonstrated ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone; to write information on prescriptions

Demonstrated ability to communicate with customer to handle complains and problems

Demonstrated ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions

Math cash handling ? demonstrated ability to add and subtract; able to make change; able to complete daily cash report

Type 20 WPM

Stress tolerance ? to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast-paced environment

Physical Stamina ? to work in fast paced environment, and maneuver around pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications :

PTCB Certification

HMO and 3rd Party Managed Care Experience

10 key by touch

Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
