Carpenter / Foreman – Commercial Construction
Dallas, TX
Position Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Carpenter / Foreman with a strong background in commercial construction to join our growing team in Dallas, TX . The ideal candidate will have experience leading crews on complex, large-scale projects including K-12 schools, higher education buildings, civic facilities, and convention center-type structures . This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage daily field operations, ensure quality work, and maintain schedules and safety on the job site.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and lead a team of carpenters and laborers on active commercial job sites
- Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings
- Oversee rough and finish carpentry, including blocking, doors, hardware, frames, casework, wall systems, acoustical treatments, and specialty assemblies common in institutional projects
- Coordinate daily tasks with other trades, subcontractors, and project management staff
- Maintain quality control and ensure work meets project standards and specifications
- Enforce and promote compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies
- Track labor productivity and material usage; assist with site documentation and daily reports
- Support layout and coordination of work according to project schedule and logistics
- Communicate effectively with project teams, architects, and owners when needed
- Ensure timely completion of assigned phases in accordance with project milestones
Qualifications :
5+ years of commercial carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman roleProven experience on K-12, higher education, municipal, or large-scale commercial projectsStrong understanding of commercial construction techniques, codes, and safety requirementsAbility to read and interpret architectural and structural drawingsSkilled in use of tools and equipment related to commercial carpentryComfortable with digital tools for timekeeping, reporting, and communicationExcellent leadership, problem-solving, and team coordination skillsAbility to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentOSHA 30 certification strongly preferredValid driver’s license and reliable transportation requiredPreferred Experience With :
Division 6 and Division 10 scopes of workArchitectural woodwork and casework installationPre-fabricated wall systems or modular componentsCoordination in occupied facilities (e.g., active schools or campuses)LEED or sustainable building practicesWorking knowledge using ProcorePhysical Requirements :
Able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and navigate active job sitesWilling to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in active construction zonesCompensation & Benefits :
