We’re a new, locally owned, upscale neighborhood restaurant bringing elevated food and wine to Solana Beach. Polished yet approachable, we focus on exceptional hospitality, seasonal coastal cuisine, and a strong sense of community. We’re seeking a Assistant General Manager to lead our front-of-house team with calm confidence, elevate service execution, and help us continue to grow off of the strong foundation we have established
Role Overview
As the Assistant General Manager , you’ll be a key player in our daily operations and guest experience. You'll lead service during peak hours, coach and develop the front-of-house team, and ensure every guest interaction reflects our high standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and genuinely enjoys building a strong team culture. We will also want to collaborate on creative ways to drive business into the restaurant, and work together to understand and analyze the restaurant's financials.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach FOH team members, creating a “training team” that models service standards and company values
- Manage weekly staff scheduling to meet labor targets and service demands
- Actively manage the floor during peak hours—pacing the room, supporting guest recovery, and leading pre-shift meetings
- Maintain and improve operational playbooks (e.g., opening / closing checklists, comp / void protocols, service steps)
- Oversee private event bookings from inquiry to execution, including holds, confirmations, and follow-ups
- Collaborate with the chef and beverage lead on menu features, tastings, and staff education
- Monitor labor cost and productivity by reviewing punches, spotting trends, and communicating insights to leadership
- Utilize Toast POS for daily operations; Toast experience is a plus
- Support social media management as needed (optional, based on skillset)
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws, food safety standards, and maintain a professional, inclusive workplace

3+ years of FOH leadership experience in high-volume, high-standard dining environmentsA calm, confident presence on the floor with a strong eye for detail and a collaborative, coaching leadership styleProficiency with Toast POS and basic labor tracking / reportingStrong communication and organizational skillsSan Diego County Food Handler CardCalifornia RBS CertificationSchedule
