MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) SME

OverviewGovCIO is currently looking for a MySQL Database Administrator SME for our Courts proposal. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.

ResponsibilitiesUnder general direction, provides highly technical expertise and guidance in the architecture, design, implementation, support, operation and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS) such as lnformix, DB2, MySQL, and SQL Server.

Performs data movement, troubleshoots issues, and writes scripts to perform common database tasks.Maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.

Performs installs, configuration, migrations, restores, and monitors the security and performance of the systems are not compromised.

Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.Prepares and delivers presentations on DBMS concepts.QualificationsBachelor's with 5-8 years (or commensurate experience) in Information Technology, Data Administration, or related fieldsComplete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and its application.

Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Works under only general direction.Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
