Our client in Springfield is seeking a Purchasing Agent!

This is a direct hire / permanent position.

Hours / Schedule : Monday-Friday, 730am-4pm

Pay rate : $55K-$60K – Direct hire / permanent

Day to Day Responsibilities for Purchasing Agent :

• Identify and source products domestically in the most cost-effective way possible for servicing heavy industry worldwide
• Provide quotes to end-users as quickly and competitively as possible, preferably within 24 hours, but always be mindful of bid close dates
• Buy efficiently from the correct source and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
• Place Purchase Orders with local suppliers and monitor the status of each order
• Monitor freight by air or sea and keep clients updated with status reports
• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and agreements with suppliers
