Job Summary :

The Community Relations Coordinator will plan, organize, and direct the community relations initiative of Touchette Regional Hospital with the objective of establishing communication and creating a positive and favorable image to the community, general public, and staff.

Referral retention and growth, managing relationships, issue resolution, data analysis, organizing special events are all key components of the position.

This role combines elements of relationship building and stakeholder management.

Functions and Duties :

  • Acts as a primary ambassador and liaison for Touchette with community advocacy groups that impact the target population, patients, families, community organizations, and potential referrals.
  • Develops and sustains community outreach to churches, businesses, schools, clubs, and external organizations to build awareness to programming and services at TRH.
  • Contact targeted physician practices and area hospitals to assess practice referral patterns, educate staff on TRH Services and secure meetings and new patient referrals.
  • Assist with communication with provider offices regarding TRH providers and services.
  • Monitor all media coverage for TRH.
  • Maintain necessary files and archives regarding publicity and media relations.
  • Represents the hospital in the community, including various boards, committees and public functions that will promote goodwill and visibility of Touchette Regional Hospital.
  • Builds and maintains superior working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stays up to date on the changing community and industry trends, as they apply to the health and well-being of the community.
  • Performs Service Recovery as needed and regularly collaborates with TRH’s stakeholders.
  • Responds to inquiries from community members and other interested parties.
  • Generates ideas for outreach programs and special events that will influence public opinion.
  • Identifies areas needing improvements and utilizes the facility performance improvement process.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all information that is confidential in nature.
  • Develop and direct the execution of a community outreach plan.
  • Present community participation opportunities and ideas to the Hospital Senior Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with Executive Team and Management to create and meet strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for the collection and dissemination of Customer Service Quality Report.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff to provide representation in key organizations, meetings, councils, and community events.
  • Provide guidance, input and support for system-wide initiatives or special projects as related to community relations.
  • Accountable for all aspects of the budgeting and expenditure process for Community Outreach department.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education

Associates degree or relevant work experience.

Experience

  • Experience with community outreach.
  • Media relations experience
