The Role : As a Temporary Housing Maintenance Helper, you will support our Housing Maintenance Technician in preparing and maintaining employee housing for the upcoming season. This role plays a key part in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our team members. You'll assist with a wide range of tasks, from painting and repairs to groundskeeping and equipment setup, helping ensure our facilities reflect the quality and care Tanimura & Antle is known for.
This hands-on position is ideal for someone who takes initiative, works well with others, and takes pride in keeping spaces clean, organized, and functional.
Location(s) : Salinas, CA, Huron, CA
Areas of Responsibility :
- Assist with basic repairs, cleaning, painting, and general upkeep of housing units, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Help prepare housing for incoming residents by cleaning, organizing, and ensuring each unit is move-in ready.
- Support furniture and equipment setup, including moving, assembling, or arranging items as directed.
- Replace small maintenance items such as air filters, batteries, smoke detector units, and light bulbs.
- Maintain outdoor areas by assisting with mowing, trimming, debris removal, and other basic landscaping or cleanup needs.
- Safely operate basic tools and cleaning equipment while following company safety guidelines.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or supervisor direction, completing assigned work efficiently and with attention to detail.
- Communicate any larger repairs, safety concerns, or supply needs to the Housing Maintenance Technician or supervisor.
- Follow company procedures to ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for residents and team members.
- Assist with seasonal housing setup and cleanout projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous general labor, handyman, or maintenance experience preferred but not required.At least 1 year of experience in a related role (housing, facilities, or similar) is a plus.Ability to use basic hand tools and perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving furniture or appliances.Dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn.Flexible and able to respond to urgent maintenance needs when required.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, bend, and work in various indoor / outdoor conditions.Ideal Candidate :
