About the role
The IT department at Babson Diagnostics is a critical function supporting all aspects of the hardware and applications our internal users rely on to perform their day-to-day activities.
The intern role will have a direct impact on our internal users by building and deploying the PC infrastructure users interact with daily.
This role will be an internal customer facing role providing daily support to the end user. This internship is located in Austin, Texas.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provisioning and system setup for new hires.
- Hands-on experience with Windows / Linux / Mac OS environments.
- Working knowledge of computer peripherals, including printers, scanners, etc.
- Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.
- Ability to perform remote troubleshooting.
- CompTIA’s A+, Network+, and Security+ are all nice to haves.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined.
- Utilize cross-functional collaboration and communication to quickly understand, troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve system issues.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and workstations.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of support activities, including incident reports, resolutions, and documentation of technical procedures.
- Ensure security compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Maintain IT policies and systems to support secure and ongoing operations.
- Manage hardware and software inventory, support contracts, and policies.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science; however, we would also consider other IT degrees. We are not looking for programming or IT security and are focused specifically on end user hardware and software.
- Currently enrolled in a university or college program that is accredited. Recent graduates may be considered.
- Must be enrolled in or have completed courses related to field of interest.
- Required Skills : Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Attention to Detail, Being A Team Player and Operating with Professionalism.
- Available to start as soon as end of May.
